Automatic recording option for Microsoft Teams meetings in booking workflows

When using Microsoft Teams as the meeting location in TidyCal, it would be extremely useful to have an option to automatically start recording the meeting.

Currently, TidyCal generates the Teams meeting link, but recording must be started manually or configured separately via Microsoft 365 policies. This creates a risk of missed recordings, especially in customer meetings, consultations, or compliance-related sessions.

Proposed feature:
Add a checkbox or toggle in the booking type settings (e.g. “Automatically record meeting”) when Microsoft Teams is selected as the location.

Expected behavior:

  • The meeting is automatically recorded when it starts, or
  • TidyCal triggers or requests recording via Teams integration (if supported by API / permissions)

Use cases:

  • Client consultations and sales calls
  • Compliance / audit documentation (e.g. NIS2-related processes)
  • Training sessions and internal meetings

Benefits:

  • Eliminates human error (forgotten recordings)

  • Improves compliance and documentation

  • Saves time and simplifies workflows
