I would appreciate it if additional appointments were only activated once a certain number of appointments had been allocated. This implies that appointments are a scarce commodity and increases the willingness to register for an event quickly. As a provider, this allows you to regulate capacity utilization much better.
This feature would be useful on a specific day, for example, to avoid generating empty slots, because some customers book early appointments, while others book late appointments. This often results in unbooked time slots.
In addition, it would make sense to extend this function to entire days. Additional days would then only become available if demand was sufficiently high and there was continued demand.
