Internal Notes/Labels for Booking Types

The Problem

When companies manage a large number of distinct Booking Types, differentiated by language, duration, purpose (e.g., pre-sales, onboarding, customer support), or team the main "Booking Types" dashboard can become cluttered and difficult to manage at a glance.

Currently, users have no easy way to internally label or categorize these booking links without making the information public in the booking title or description, which is often inappropriate. This leads to confusion, wasted time deciphering a booking link's purpose, and potential operational mistakes.

The Solution: Internal-Use Note/Label Field

We propose adding a dedicated "Internal Note" or "Internal Label" field to the settings of every Booking Type.

  • Internal Visibility Only: This field would be strictly for internal use and would not be visible to clients or customers on the public booking page.

  • Dashboard Display: The text from this field would be displayed clearly on the main "Booking Types" dashboard view.

Why This Feature is Powerful

Adding this simple field dramatically improves organizational efficiency and clarity for multi-service businesses:

  1. Quick Identification and Context: Users can immediately see the context of a booking type on the dashboard. Examples:

    • "Embedded on Website - New Leads"

    • "Tier 3 Support - Active Clients Only"

    • "Spanish Market - Pre-Sales Team"

  2. Operational Clarity: It helps prevent mistakes when sharing links by clarifying who a link is for or where it's being used.

  3. Enhanced Management: It makes auditing and managing a large roster of booking types faster and less error-prone. Instead of relying on potentially long or confusing titles, a clean, dedicated label provides immediate context.

This feature is a quality-of-life improvement that scales incredibly well with the complexity of a company's offerings, moving TidyCal from a simple scheduler to a robust, professional booking management platform.
